Where to Camp Around Royan
Executive summary about Camping Pledge by Stephen Lane
Camping Pledge – Anyone looking to go camping in South West France, but who hasn’t decided which part to head to would do well to consider the area around Royan.Bonne Anse Plage
Bonne Anse Plage is a superb choice for families looking for a campsite in South West France with plenty to do. As well as the two swimming pools (one exclusively for children) and colourful twisting slides, the Royan campsite also boasts its own 18 hole mini golf course which is sure to keep you coming back time and time again to improve upon your score!
Camping Interlude
Located on the Ile de Ré, this is an island campsite near Royan that’s perfectly suited to families with young children. There are plenty of beaches, and gentle waters which are ideal swimming and play, while the sands make the perfect spot for picnics and beach games. Then of course, there’s plenty on site including a sauna, jacuzzi, gym and an indoor/outdoor pool.
Camping le Puits de l’Auture
This spacious site is amongst my favourite campsites in South West France. The biggest draw is its location: very close to the long stretch of white sands and calm blue waters. The Royan campsite itself is pretty memorable too, with colourful flowerbeds, well spaced trees, swimming pools and kids’ playground.
Séquoia Parc
If there were a prize for the most visually appealing campsite in Royan, Séquoia Parc would definitely win it. Laid out in the spacious, sunny grounds of Chateau de la Josephtrie, the fields of sunflowers and vineyards make for an outstanding backdrop to your holiday.
The Best Family Friendly Campsites in the Vendee
Executive summary about Camping Pledge by Stephen Lane
The Vendee is a great location for a family holiday. As well as the beaches, its easy access from the U.K., endless hours of sunshine and excellent watersports there are also plenty of campsites and mobile homes to choose from, which makes this location ideal for a family break. The trouble is that with so many campsites available, it’s hard to know which one to choose.
Camping le Clarys Plage
If your family’s idea of a great holiday is to enjoy the beach, and to spend time swimming in a fun and feature packed pool complex, then Camping le Clarys Plage may be just the campsite for you. The golden sands of the local beach are just 5 minutes walk away, while the pool provides excellent facilities for children and parents alike. There are plenty of slides, a jacuzzi, fountains and a separate covered pool and paddling pool for the children and toddlers. There is also evening entertainment throughout the season, and while there’s no restaurant or shop on site, a fine selection of bars and eateries are just a short walk away.
Holidaying in a tent or mobile home in the Vendee is a great choice for those with families. The resort style facilities and entertainment both onsite and nearby will keep children of all ages happy during your stay. All of these campsites will offer you a great break for you and your family no matter which one you choose.
