Do you enjoy going on camping trips? If so then you are obviously the type of individual who loves the great outdoors and finds satisfaction in running away from the day to day stresses of life in the city. Because the idea is to retreat from civilization for a short time, the last thing you need is the inconvenience of something going terribly wrong during your outdoor expedition. That’s why it is worth making a camping checklist to help you keep in mind all the things you may require.

Camping Checklists

At times it may be hard to choose what to add to your list. After all, there is just so much space on hand so you must decide what is vital and what is not. You will find it useful to look online for camping checklists that other people have put together. This might trigger you to recall a number of critical items that you may otherwise have forgotten to pack. Of course, there are non-essential items that other people might choose to take that you would find entirely needless. For instance, lots of women would be panic-stricken without their makeup bag while others would be content with just some soap and moisturizer.

There are certain items that need to be on every camping checklist. Here’s a starter list for you (which is by no means inclusive):

* Food and a cooler to store the perishable things

* Camp stove, pots, and cooking utensils (including a sharp knife)

* Dishes and cutlery

* Clothing for a variety of weather conditions

* Personal hygiene items

* Sleeping bags

* Toilet paper

* Lantern

* First aid kit

When you forget certain vital items it can prevent you from being able to perform some requirements such as opening cans, cooking your food, keeping warm, treating an injury, or keeping clean. If overlooking something means you cannot manage to achieve something that is simple but vital it could spoil your trip. At the least you may have to look for a store and waste cash getting an article you failed to remember to take with you. It is consequently important to be as meticulous as you can when making your camping checklist.

You may wish to include a number of non-essential items on your checklist. These are the type of items that are important to you, though other folks might go without them rather easily. Your trip isn’t ruined when you neglect to bring the non essentials; however, remembering them makes the situation better for you. It is totally up to you which non-essential things you include on your camping checklist. Only don’t spend so much time thinking about the unnecessary extras that you forget to bring something that truly is essential. Ultimately a can opener is considerably more essential than makeup.

Camping Checklist

First, if at all possible, bring a friend or family member and that will give you double fun. If not camp alone but bring along everything that you need.

Cord – lots of cord. Make sure you bring enough cord to hold your tent down, plus a little extra.

Tent stakes – That will prevent your tent from rolling or flying away in windy weather.

Flashlights – You’ll always need one of these even if you like camping in the dark. In the middle of the night if you are looking for something in your tent, you’ll not find it without a flashlight

Water; bring lots of water to drink. Camping is the easiest way to get started on a new healthy way of living. With the stores and the soda pops far away, you have no excuse to not drink water. So, hydrate yourself and keep yourself healthy.

Back to tents: Please know that you can go camping without spending lots of money. Just use your imagination, and you’ll find a great way to go camping in a great campgrounds or state park. If you want life-long tents, I highly recommend a company called, Eureka. Eureka tents are the best!

Family Camping List

Let’s see, we’ve got the “to do list”, that one that never seems to get done and we sure put a lot into that list, then there’s the grocery shopping list and it’s usually written within the “to do list”. I suggest making a new list, the “Family Camping List”.

Your list of essentials to bring for camping should be: a sturdy tent with a fly, sleeping bags for everybody and sleeping mats for the kids. Bring an air bed for mom and dad so they can be comfortable too.

To make proper list for family camping it matters where you are going and how long it will take to get there, typically its best to take younger children camping, teens are usually involved with sports but if its in the summer time they should really experience what its like to rough it and those that are college bound might think it’s a little beneath them.

There are games to play while driving too. The kids can name different state license plates on cars and trucks; mom can keep records since dad is usually driving. You can pump your arms when you pass a semi-truck; it’s always fun to hear the horn blast on an 18 wheeler, just let dad know that you’re doing it.

If you really need something you’ve forgotten when you get there see if you can live without it, camping is about challenging yourself to live without certain creature comforts for a few days. Most of all, don’t forget the ingredients for smores! You’ll be the hit of the campout, its all my kids want to eat when we go camping.
